Why vegan?

Some people take offense to the plea ‘go vegan’. Some people feel this is too much to ask. However, when you consider the current state of the world, it is clear that we all need to do as much as we can, as soon as we can…

Number of people predicted to be displaced due to climate change by 2050: 1 billion (24 )

Number of malnourished people in the developing world: 820 million (20 )

Number of animals killed per hour for meat in the US alone: 660,000 (18 )

Current rate of species extinction due to destruction of tropical rainforests: 1,000 per year (18 )

How frequently a heart attack kills in the US: every 45 seconds (18 )

Cutting down on your consumption of meat, dairy and eggs will help animals, the environment, world hunger and improve your health. However, the closer you are to being vegan, the bigger the difference you can make, and none of these life-threatening issues deserve anything less than your full committment.
